Education Cut protest planned for outside Tynwald

Today is the day everyone has been waiting for with the Treasury Minister set to announce the full run down of the budget in today's sitting of Tynwald.

The government's plan for re balancing the books in light of the cut to the UK VAT sharing arrangement is set to be completed by 2015/16, until then Department's will be operating on greatly reduced budgets.

We will find out later how hard each individual Department has been hit, and if staff cutbacks will be a necessity.

There will also be an anxious wait to see if there will be any changes made to the current tax situation.

Last week details about Education and Children's plans to close government funded nurseries and libraries emerged to public outcry.

It's anticipated there will be protests outside the Tynwald building today from the public looking for a decision reversal.

We will have all the budget run down in full by later on this morning.
