The topic of PokerStars is set to rear its head in Tynwald today.
Member for Onchan Peter Karran will be asking Minister for Economic Development Alan Bell if he thinks there is any substance behind the criminal charges levelled at the two Manx residents associated with the company.
PokerStars’ founders Isai Scheinberg and Paul Tate were both implicated in a major fraud operation recently along with two other online gaming companies.
Minister Bell will also be asked if he believes the charges are politically motivated for trade protection purposes.
The Onchan MHK will also be seeking an update on the future of the jobs at the company, and what measures are in place to protect the individuals and employees of the company and the business interests and reputation of the Isle of Man.
