Dunlop tops leaderboards at final TT qualifying session

Last night saw the final qualifying session for this year's TT, with Michael Dunlop topping the Superstock, Supersport and Supertwin leaderboards.

Rain during the day meant the final practice was pushed back to 6:30pm, with some damp patches left in areas of the course.

Peter Hickman ends qualifying as the fastest with a 132.874mph lap last night, and finished 15 seconds faster than Dunlop, who was first to cross the line. 

Leading contenders in the Superstock were Dean Harrison, who was the early pacesetter at 127.853mph, closely followed by Conor Cummins (127.635mph), Neve (124.783mph, Nathan Harrison (124.313mph) and Brian McCormack (124.142mph).

The Sidecars had only just one lap after a burst water main affecting roads at Cronk y Mona and Mike Booth came off his bike at Joey's.

He was airlifted to Noble's Hospital with leg injuries.

Looking at today:

Today will see the first official races of TT 2022.

The Mountain Road will close from Barrule Park in Ramsey from 9:15am and from the Bungalow at 9:30am.

The rest of the TT course will close at 10am.

The Solo Warm-Up lap will get underway at 10:30am, followed by the Superbike TT at 12pm and the Sidecar TT Race at 3pm.

Roads should re-open no later than 9:30pm.

West Quay and Market Place in Ramsey will be closed from 6pm-12am for the third night of Sprintfest, with Bushy's TT village opening from midday.
