DTI Aim To Relax Work Permit Laws
In an effort to bolster the Island’s economy an order has been submitted to Tynwald by the Department of Trade and Industry asking for certain employments to be exempt from having to acquire work permits.
The proposal would not affect local workers in the long term as the exemptions only apply to employments of a temporary nature.
The changes would not apply to the construction industry as it was feared that could have a negative affect to local individuals and businesses.
