The Social Care Minister has come under fire for not doing enough to measure household income.
South Douglas MHK Kate Beecroft has raised concerns that Chris Robertshaw’s department doesn’t have a proper understanding of the income and how it’s related to fuel cost.
She says after asking a similar question 20 months ago she’s still waiting to see some progress.
With the cold weather setting in Mrs Beecroft says she believes the department should be using a tool to measure it like the UK does in terms of fuel poverty.
She says something needs to be done:
What would be the impact of raising the income tax threshold?
