A drink-driver was caught after going the wrong way down a one-way street past police.
Giarrico Convertini of Central Promenade in Douglas appeared before High Bailiff Jayne Hughes at Douglas Courthouse.
The 36 year old pleaded guilty to a single count of drink-driving on July 25 and failing to conform with a traffic direction on the same date.
Prosecutor Roger Kane told the court the restaurant worker had two passengers in his Nissan Qashqai when officers watched him go the wrong way down Station Road in Port Erin just before 10.30pm.
They followed him and watched as he weaved across the road and noticed he smelled of alcohol when they pulled him over.
At police headquarters, he turned out to be just under one and a half times the legal limit and admitted having a glass of wine at a friend's house.
Mrs Hughes fined him a total of £1,150 and ordered him to pay £50 costs as well as imposing an 18-month driving ban.
