Drafting a new education bill for the Island has cost nearly £16,000.
The figure was revealed in Tynwald this week by Education, Sport and Culture Minister Graham Cregeen.
He revealed drafting began in early 2017, followed by a consultation involving 535 individuals and organisations.
It came in response to a question from Garff MHK Daphe Caine.
