An Isle of Man-based surgeon charged with fraud has been found not guilty.
Dr Dirk Hoehmann was charged with 44 offences of fraud committed during his time in Germany.
He then left the country with the offences outstanding before becoming the specialist nose and throat surgeon at Noble’s Hospital.
As he failed to declare this during his original interview at the hospital it subsequently meant he obtained £736,000 by deception from the former Department of Health and Social Security.
The trial lasted for five days, however he was found innocent of any wrongdoing at Douglas Courthouse on Thursday afternoon.
