Douglas is to apply for city status in the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee competition.
The competition will see the Queen give city status on one or more towns next year.
For the first time it's now also open to the Crown Dependancies.
Douglas Council hopes city status will elevate the town's profile and help attract new business.
Earlier this month, Peel also announced it would apply for city status through the competition.
