The Island's Infrastructure Minister says Douglas promenade won't close for three years while construction work gets underway.
Ray Harmer was asked about the potential closure by Middle MHK Bill Shimmins in the House of Keys yesterday.
In response, Mr Harmer said he wants to correct misinformation in the media, and confirm Douglas prom won't shut for the duration of its reconstruction.
Although there will be disruption to traffic and parking in the area, he confirmed access to hotels, shops and residential properties will be maintained throughout the scheme.
