Douglas Promenade is now reopening to traffic.
A stretch between the Sea Terminal and Castlemona Avenue had been closed this afternoon because of waves causing problems to pathways and roads.
The conditions did lead to one person being injured after their vehicle was hit by coastal overtopping.
Meanwhile, a yellow weather warning for coastal overtopping and icy patches on Island has been extended until 3pm tomorrow.
Ice is most likely to affect high ground whilst areas most at risk from overtopping are exposed promenades.
