A Douglas man will stand trial after being accused of raping a teenage girl.
38-year-old John William Paton of Oak Avenue in Pulrose, appeared at Douglas Courthouse yesterday.
He’s been charged with three offences of rape - they were allegedly carried out between July 2007 and July 2015.
He’s also been charged with committing three indecent assaults between February 2001 and July 2009.
Additionally he faces two charges of procuring a person under the age of 16 to commit an act of gross indecency between July 2005 and July 2008.
Committal proceedings - where the case is elevated to the Court of General Gaol Delivery - will take place on August 23rd.
Bail was granted on the condition he resides at an address in Port Erin, doesn’t enter Pulrose and surrenders his passport to the court.
