Restrictions on where dog walkers can take their pets in the Island's capital will be laid before Tynwald next week.
Douglas Council's dog byelaws ban dogs from most open spaces in the borough, including a large section of the beach.
The council says the new rules will be in force for the next 10 years, unless superseded by new byelaws.
Dog owners who ignore the new rules can face fines of up to £1,000.
