Douglas Borough Budget Announced: Rates Remain Frozen

Douglas Borough Budget Announced: Rates Remain Frozen

The Douglas Borough Council’s budget for coming year was announced yesterday by Council Leader David Christian.

Councillor Christian opened the speech by announcing that due to rigorous scrutinising of Committee’s Budgets they’d managed to formulate a budget plan without compromising the services they provide.

The big news of the budget announcement was that rates are to remain frozen.

By redploying personnel it’s thought the Council can generate savings and improve efficiency keeping them within budget for the next year.

Other announcements made revealed a major housing redevelopment at Upper Pulrose to commence soon, a new BMX track for Nobles Park.

A decision is also set to be made soon regarding the future of the Bowl Stadium.
