Things Steadily Return to Normal
Things have been steadily returning to normal on the Island today.
The extreme weather overnight and this morning wiped out power to many properties in the east of the Island, it has since all been restored although householders are urged to contact the MEA if any more problems occur.
The high winds forced the cancellation of all of the fast craft services going to Ireland and Liverpool today, an announcement about tomorrow’s sailings is expected later.
The Mountain Road and Roundtable are going to be closed until at least tomorrow afternoon.
We spoke to Alan Harding from the Department of Transport to see how work is progressing on getting some roads reopened in time for the rush hour traffic.
