The Department of Infrastructure is urging motorists not to use a cut through at a Douglas school to get around nearby roadworks.
Highways Services says an increasing number of motorists are using the Ballakermeen School Drive as a shortcut to get around a section of Quarterbridge Road which is currently one-way because of improvement works.
Officials are urging residents not to use this route as it can be a danger to school pupils and also causes congestion in the area at the start and end of the school day.
The DOI adds signs will be put up to reinforce the message.
