Government says it wants to encourage people to get out of their cars and to walk or cycle for short trips.
The Department of Infrastructure is asking people to submit feedback on its Active Travel initiative.
According to a 2011 survey, 14.2 per cent of people walked or cycled to work and the department wants to increase this to 20 per cent by 2020.
