Infrastructure Minister Tim Crookall says money and staffing shortages in his department means it's reviewing how it supports events.
This week in the House of Keys he faced questions from Arbory, Castletown and Malew MHK Tim Glover about the DOI's fencing and cones.
He wanted to know why the help had been withdrawn and which events were still getting support.
Mr Crookall said the programme was being carefully scrutinised:
