The Department of Infrastructure says the Mountain Road has been closed for 16 days so far this year - compared to a total of 19 days last year.
Minister Ray Harmer gave the figures in reply to a question for written answer in Tynwald from Ramsey MHK Lawrie Hooper.
The planned works and emergency closures don't take into account the TT and Festival of Motorcycling, when the whole TT course shuts.
Mr Harmer said this year the closures had been for repairing tram warning signs as well as carrying out resurfacing and TT preparation work.
