The Department of Infrastructure says its workers are preparing for heavy rain this evening, and is advising people to get ready.
A yellow weather warning about rain has been issued for 12 hours tonight from 6pm.
Street sweepers are currently clearing fallen leaves which could clog drains and gutters, and the department says teams are clearing problem areas.
People can pick up sandbags from Civic Amenity Sites in Rushen, German, Santon and Lezayre, as well as Civil Defence Headquarters in Tromode.
