The Department of Infrastructure let Treasury know when it realised the cost of the new Liverpool ferry terminal would overrun by 10 per cent.
That's according to minister Tim Crookall, who faced questions in the House of Keys about the project's cost.
Ramsey MHK Lawrie Hooper asked what permission the DOI had to spend extra money on the facility.
Mr Crookall said his department had acted in line with government spending rules:
