It’s after incidents around the Island, including fallen trees, which means the demand on services can’t be comfortably managed.
Teams are working to clear roads but some have had to withdraw because of the dangers posed by falling trees.
The DOI is asking people to stay at home and not to travel unless absolutely necessary.
