Dog owners are being warned to keep their dogs under control or face the consequences.
The police and Department of Environment, Food and Aquiculture are receiving numerous calls from people concerned about dogs barking.
Dogs can cause a statutory nuisance from whining and barking and owners could face court action as a result.
A new leaflet has been launched offering advice on how to combat the problem.
