The Department of Education has announced students will get full TT fortnight off - in three years' time.
The Department released the 2018/19 term dates this week which includes two weeks off for pupils in TT 2019.
It happened in 2015 - staff will use the time to undertake training during practice week when students would normally be in.
The Department says it publish the holidays well in advance to help busy parents to plan - saying it believes parents will 'welcome the opportunity' to take a break when UK schools are open and travel will be cheaper.
It also said the roads are always busy during TT and considering the holiday pattern it was better to close all schools for the whole period.
