The Island's church says it wants more time before it builds a new house in Ballaugh.
The Diocese of Sodor and Mann was granted permission in principle for the house next door to the Rectory in the village in 2013.
But it says it needs more time to relocate the rector and sell the land.
In its application, the diocese says the plans would involve demolishing the existing building's garage to make room to the new house.
