Chief Executive will also hold meeting with MHKs
A leading member of the campaign group Dignity in Dying will be on the Isle of Man next week taking a public meeting and addressing politicians in the House of Keys.
Chief Executive, Sarah Wootton, will be using her time on the Island to argue that a change in law is needed to allow the choice of assisted dying to terminally ill, mentally competent adults.
It’s a contentious issue and one that sparked plenty of debate at a Positive Action Group meeting held on the topic.
Some feel it needs to be implemented whereas others consider it morally wrong.
Given the Isle of Man’s history of introducing progressive social legislation the organisation hope that the Island can lead the way with a compassionate law to address the issue.
The Public meeting will be held next Wednesday at 7.30pm at the Manx Legion Club in Douglas.
