Newly-elected Douglas councillor Samuel Hamer says the Manx Labour party candidates weren’t standing on a joint ticket.
He was running alongside fellow party nominee Devon Watson as both were chosen by voters to represent the Derby Ward constituency.
Mr Hamer insists the pair have ‘similar views but different priorities’.
