DHSS Say National Insurance Increase Will Help Out Their Finances
The Department of Health and Social Security have said the introduction of a 1% National Insurance increase will help their financial situation.
The 1% increase has been introduced to help claw back funds into the Government who are set to suffer greatly from the loss of £90 million from next years budget.
The DHSS especially will struggle, given a current estimated overspend for this year of roughly £8 million.
It’s estimated that somebody earning the average of £569 a week will have to pay back an extra £18.36 a month.
It’s thought the proceeds of the increase will contribute an extra £7 million to the DHSS each year.
