The Department of Health and Social Care will ask for £8million in additional funding.
Health Minister David Ashford MHK will request the cash boost when Tynwald meets for its first sitting of the year on Tuesday, January 21.
It comes after Mr Ashford revealed in the courts last sitting back in December his department is currently projected to be around £5.4million over budget by the end of the financial year.
If approved, the sum would come from the Treasury's General Revenue.
