The Department of Home Affairs has submitted a planning proposal to use solar power for emergency services communications.
The application is for an array of 40 solar panels at Carnane telecoms mast, which will power the DHA’s use of the mast to host TETRA radio coverage for the emergency services.
Local democracy reporter, Sarah Hendy spoke to Minister for Justice and Home Affairs Jane Poole-Wilson, who says it’s a positive step for the department:
