Food waste solutions may be introduced on the Island before they are in the UK.
That’s the message from the Environment, Food and Agriculture Minister – who says government would prefer to lead on the issue.
It comes as the UK media reports that food waste is largely attributed to consumers and their shopping habits.
EU statistics suggest that five per cent of food waste is attributable to retailers, 42 per cent comes from consumers and 39 per cent from producers.
