DASH warn against dangers of steroid abuse

It was revealed in the UK press last week that abuse of steroids is on a par with heroin addiction in parts of the country.

Speaking to Drug advice service and helpline, DASH, it’s apparent that there are problems with the substance on the Isle of Man also.

Sale of the enhancer is illegal; however possession is not, with many people resorting to buying from unreliable sites on the internet.

Side effects can include violent rages, severe health problems and even death.

Shelly Stanley from DASH said there are a number of people on Island currently making use of their service who are experiencing problems with the subtance.
