The Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture has applied for permission to improve a dam which is at high risk of failure.
It's applied to upgrade Konslieu Dam on Lhoobs Road in Foxdale, after a report in 2018 found it had an unacceptably high risk of failure and posed a risk to life to those downstream.
DEFA says its proposals include work on embankments, overflow pipes and a stream which feeds the lake.
And it says because the area was used for military exercises in the past, it'll carry out a specialist survey looking for any unexploded weapons before work goes ahead.
