Will Douglas Head become a conservation area?
A public consultation which could lead to Douglas Head becoming a conservation area, will close tomorrow (Friday).
It was launched last July to gauge public opinion on protecting the area with stricter planning controls.
The Battery Pier and Douglas Head Lighthouse are also included in a list of buildings that would be preserved.
The report says Douglas Head has a ‘rich cultural evolution and mix of buildings’ that should be guarded against ‘inappropriate alteration, development or demolition in the future’.
