Concert promoter demands £63,000 from government

The head of a company which went into liquidation owing £890,000 after a disastrous festival in the UK has emailed MHKs demanding tens of thousands of pounds.

Lee O'Hanlon of TinyCow claims he's owed £63,000 after booking Tom Jones to play on the Island in 2016.

He remains in dispute with the Department of Economic Development.

An independent inquiry found TinyCow's plans for the Hope and Glory Festival on Merseyside weren't fit for purpose - Liverpool mayor Joe Anderson said if the company hadn't folded he'd have asked police to investigate.

In his email, Mr O'Hanlon describes the £63,000 of taxpayer's money as "paltry" and asks Economic Development Minister Laurence Skelly to pay up.

The full text of Mr O'Hanlon's email to Chief Minister Howard Quayle and Mr Skelly reads:

Dear Laurence and Howard

How the devil are you? A quick question....

Given that the world is watching how you deal with the millions and more that bypass through the Isle Of Man (I’ll not be the one to judge how proper or not that is), I was wondering if now might be a good time to pay me the £63,000 you owe me?

I’m sure no-one would be looking at such a paltry sum at this time though it does seem that the time is finally right for me to take you to task despite Howard’s email saying that he’s not responsible for his Ministers Departments. I’ve nearly stopped laughing at how ridiculous a thing that was for you to say Howard.

I was delighted to see Laurence is saying any tax evasion Wil be investigated. I can only hope the same will apply to your government not paying me what I am due. Go Laurence!

I won’t bother to mark this email as ‘Confidential’ as the last one I did found it’s way to the front page of the newspaper. How loathsome.

Anyway, do let me know if I can finally have my money now and please don’t hide behind the Bureau of Cover Ups, apologies - my mistake, the Attorney Generals Office, like you did previously to me and others.

That aside, nice to see you’re getting more UK PR these days.

Pip pip.

Lee
