An 18 year old’s been warned to change his ways or face spending a significant fraction of his life in prison.

Sean Daniel Fitzpatrick of Bowring Road in Ramsey appeared before High Bailiff Jayne Hughes at Douglas Courthouse.

He’d pleaded guilty to assault and criminal damage at a previous hearing.

The court heard he launched an unprovoked attack on a man in Albert Road in Ramsey at around 11am on October 24, punching him in the face.

When he was arrested, he stuffed clothing down a toilet in a police cell.

Noting he had a large number of previous convictions for similar offences and had been sentenced to community service around a month earlier, Mrs Hughes said Fitzpatrick needed to reconsider his life.

She ordered him to do 120 hours of community service and spend a year on probation as well as pay £250 compensation to his victim and £125 costs.
