Controversial Bus Network Review Close to Completion
The Department of Community Culture and Leisure are in the closing stages of finalising the 2010 bus network review.
The review has been the topic of much debate; aspects of it so far have been met with approval whereas other proposals have been met with derision.
Things like later buses have proven popular as has increased links to the airport; the prospect of a route change in Williston meaning the buses wouldn’t be entering the estates however was met with outcry.
Based on the response from 3FM listeners the proposed change was said to have been to the detriment of elderly bus users in the Williston area, aswell as mothers with small children.
The department have said they hope to be in a position to announce the final network and revised timetable very soon.
