Garff Commissioners are debating whether they should leave the room when the board discusses something they're personally involved with.
At their last meeting, members considered legal advice about when a clash of interests meant they should withdraw - and whether they had to leave the room or could stay to listen but not participate.
In particular, James Smith worried commissioners may be discouraged from declaring an interest if they were barred from talks.
Chairman Nigel Dobson said the legal advice from the Attorney General was clear and members have to leave the room when those items are discussed.
