Coins celebrating Manx wildlife to be launched

A commemorative coin collection celebrating the Island's wildlife will be launched in the new year.

Three designs - depicting the Mountain Hare, Atlantic Grey Seal and Peregrine Falcon - will be unveiled at the World Money Fair in Berlin in February before becoming available to people around the world.

The government says a proportion of the value of each coin sold will be donated to the Manx Wildlife Trust.

Treasury Member and Currency Committee Chairman, Bill Henderson MLC, says he's pleased the species of animals on the Isle of Man can be showcased across the globe.
