Coastguards say they were unable to rescue a dog which washed out to sea off the Island yesterday.
Douglas Coastguard was mobilised just before 3pm on Thursday to locate the animal which had been washed out to sea from Garwick Beach while being exercised.
Despite Douglas Lifeboat also being launched to help sweep Garwick and Laxey Harbour, both crews were unable to find the canine.
However, teams say just because the dog couldn't be found at the time doesn't mean it didn't manage to get back to shore and rest up.
As a result, coastguards say if you see a black and mainly white springer spaniel in the area which seems lost or unaccompanied to contact the Marine Operations Centre at the Sea Terminal.
