Coastguards helped firefighters find a blaze on Sunday evening.
Officers were alerted to what was thought to have been a boat on fire in Laxey Bay at around 6.30pm.
However, the flames turned out to be inland - they alerted the Fire and Rescue Service.
They then guided firefighters to the scene of the fire, a controlled burn which had got out of control.
