The Douglas coastguard team responded to an incident on Douglas Beach last night after a suspicious object was washed up.
The item, which had been reported by a member of the public, was a cylinder shape approximately 20 inches long with a diameter of 4 inches.
After inspection it was declared safe to remove.
The Coastguard team have commended the actions of the individual who reported the object, and urge the public to always report any washed up items that cause concern.
