The government says an advisor to the government's Climate Change Transformation Board was paid £789 per day.
That's according to the response to a Freedom of Information request, which said they were expected to work one and a half days each month.
The reply from the Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture adds the last payment was made at the end of 2024.
Government's Climate Change Transformation Team, which later became the board, was originally set up in 2020 to work towards net zero emissions.
