Cliff erosion sparks evacuation in Laxey

Properties in Laxey have had to be evacuated due to fears a cliff face is eroding. 

It follows last night's poor weather - a structural engineer has deemed the area behind St Judes Lodge on Old Laxey Hill as unsafe. 
 
The occupants of that house and a number of properties on Back Shore Road have now left and part of the promenade has been closed off. 
 
Inspector Andy Kneen says people's safety is paramount:
