Officials have clarified that Alex Sinclair had a non-negative result to his drug test.
Auto-Cycle Union corrected a previous release that said Sinclair tested positive for a random drug test.
The driver will still be excluded from competing with immediate effect.
ACU issued the clarification at 4.45pm.
