The northern Civic Amenity Site says changes to the law mean people can't leave electrical items in its metal skips from today.
The site took to Facebook to explain the new regulations come into effect on New Year's Day.
It's closed off its metal skip to make sure people don't break the law and staff don't have to fish out items to avoid being fined.
The site says people should ask staff where to leave electrical items.
