The move to make sure Manx students pay the same fees as UK students at English universities is being welcomed by the Chief Minister.
It comes after the UK Secretary of State for Education confirmed this week students in Crown Dependencies would be charged the same fees as UK students at English institutions for this academic year.
Howard Quayle MHK says the update will give Island students certainty over their future goals and is thanking the UK government for working alongside colleagues in Crown Dependencies to deliver this positive outcome.
Previously, an anomaly at some universities meant Manx students were being charged international fees which could've added tens of thousands of pounds in costs.
