The fate of the Island's suspended attorney general lies in the hands of the Lieutenant Governor and the UK Ministry of Justice.
That's according to the Chief Minister who says he isn't allowed to have any involvement in the decision on whether or not to bring disciplinary proceedings against Stephen Harding.
Mr Harding has been suspended on full pay since October 2012 - in February last year he was acquitted of committing acts against public justice and perjury.
An acting attorney general has since been recruited - when the post was advertised the salary stood at around £160,000.
