Treasury is considering extra support for low-income families this Christmas.
The Isle of Man Chief Minister is preparing to make a statement on increasing government support to help combat holiday hunger this Christmas.
It comes after questions in the House of Keys this week from MHK Daphne Caine who said families were facing rising inflation and fuel costs.
Alfred Cannan revealed Treasury's considering help for low-income families whose children normally get free school meals.
The debate was triggered by recent hikes in the cost of living- inflation has risen to 4.6%, and gas bills are also going up.
Mr Cannan told the House an announcement will come later this week:
