The external review of Noble's Hospital is set to get under way in September following months of concern over the health service.
The audit was sparked by a letter from a group of senior clinicians that highlighted serious failings in patient care and services at the hospital.
Health Minister David Anderson faced heavy criticism from his Tynwald colleagues.
